Great Dunmow Neighbourhood Plan "Your opportunity to influence change"

Introduction

Under the government’s Localism Act, communities now have the opportunity to become directly involved and play a greater role in planning at the local level through the medium of a Neighbourhood Plan.

To ensure that people living and working in the Great Dunmow area have the opportunity to participate, Great Dunmow Town Council is now proceeding with the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan and has appointed a Steering Group (NPSG) to manage development and progress of the plan.

After consultation with the wider community, the Neighbourhood Plan will be submitted for independent scrutiny to ensure its compliance with Local and National Planning Frameworks. There will also be a referendum on the Neighbourhood Plan and – if the majority of those who vote are in favour – then the plan will become a planning policy document within Uttlesford District Council’s local development plan.
