The Committee's responsibilities are, as their title suggests, primarily overall control of the Council's finances and policies. Other specific responsibilities include:
 Street furniture (bus shelters, community notice boards, fingerpost signs, litter bins, seats, town maps, etc.)- Hanging baskets & bulb planting scheme
- Administering the Social & Welfare Fund
