› TOWN MAYOR'S REPORT : 2008-09 : HALL COMMITTEE
The Committee manages the E.T. Foakes Memorial Hall, which is a Registered Charity of which the Town Council is sole trustee, and Foakes House (formerly the Hall Caretaker's house and now rented for offices).
The matters coming before the Committee during year included:
Scenery store entrance - raising height
- Review of burglar alarm at Foakes House
- Puffin Pre-School Group - lease
- Stage / scenery store insulation
- Painting external window frames
- Review of charges, fees and rents
- Re-line Hall car park
- Replace vanity unit in ladies' toilets
- Redecoration radiators, external and internal walls of main hall
- Re-seal tarmac of Foakes House frontage and yard
- Dimmer pack for stage lighting
- Covering, lighting and plaque in main hall for wall tapestry presented by the Mayor of Dourdan
- Painting of external mural at entrance to Puffin Pre-School Group entrance
- Water hygiene risk assessment implementation
- Foakes House - repairs and redecoration
- Foakes House - drainage
- Foakes House - repair of west wall
- Reserves - diversification
- Lease of offices 1, 3 and 4, Foakes House
- Lease of land west of Foakes Hall car park - rent review
- Fireproof safe
- Redecorate Culf Suite and Bar Area
- Tennis Pavilion - review of agreement
- Refurbishment of Talberd Room mural by Dunmow Art Group
- Hall car park - clamping
- Tennis Pavilion - external decoration and repair
- External window frames - painting
- Two-way light switching - main hall and Talberd Room
- Proposed purchase of District Council Offices
- Replace weatherboarding (east side of Hall)
- Purchase of round tables
